Last week, as part of National Storytelling Week, Year 5 had the exciting opportunity to engage in a storytelling workshop lead by award-winning children’s author Tọlá Okogwu. The children listened with interest as Tọlá shared her story-writing process and then created a story with the children, who offered wonderful suggestions for developing the main character, setting and plot twist. The children were able to ask Tọlá questions at the end of the session such as: What was your inspiration to become an author? How does a person become a published author? They then went on to write fantastic stories inspired by the session with Tọlá, which will be entered into a competition.
