Yr 3 History: Bredon Hill Fort Visit

Year 3 enjoyed a fantastic morning of outdoor learning on Bredon Hill, as part of their history topic on the Iron Age.

The class walked up to Parson’s Folly (the 18th century tower created by Mr Parsons, from Kemerton). As they approached the summit they were told  that they were standing in an Iron Age hill for, known as Kemerton Camp.

The class walked across the manmade ramparts, to the entrance, learning that it was 2,300 years old. They talked about how they knew a battle had happened there, discussing the clues. They found out how long ago the Iron Age was, made a time line of the fort, played an Iron Age themed game and asked lots of interesting questions. A great way to bring history to life and consolidate their learning.

Thank you to Mrs Andrews for  sharing her extensive expertise from previous visits to the site with the County Archaeologist!
