On Monday morning Year 6 led us in an emotional service as we held out last mass with them. During the offertory they each brought up an object that they felt represented their time at Holy Redeemer School and how they had grown and developed. The children chose a wide variety of symbolic objects, from the circle of friends from their class altar (representing the good friendships they had made and how they have developed the skills and attributes of being a good friend), to sports medals, leadership badges, and even a rubber (to symbolise how they had learnt that it was ok to make mistakes, as long as they learnt from them).
As always they read and sang beautifully, finishing with ‘One More Step Along the Road I Go’.
Thank you to Mrs Williams for helping the children to plan such a meaningful service and to Deacon Pat and Father Amal for moving the mass to 9:15am to avoid the worst of the heat and for all their help and support of the school and its pupils over the year.
