Year 5 had a wonderful day last Friday, celebrating all of their learning for the Ancient Egypt and Ancient Greece topics. They arrived in school wearing amazing Greek or Egyptian-themed costumes, then throughout the day they made clay canopic jars, Greek flatbreads, with various flavours and took part in Olympic sports activities on the playground.
In the afternoon they proudly showcased their Egyptian ‘unhomework’ alongside canopic jars they had made out of clay, with Mrs Breakwell, and Greek flatbreads that were the culmination of this term’s DT unit. They set up this exhibition in the hall, for other classes and parents to come and visit. We were all very impressed with what they had achieved and with how knowledgeable they were!
It was a wonderful day and the children had great fun. Thank you to Mrs Charlton-Weedy, Mrs Breakwell and Mrs Elcocks for all of their hard work in organised and helping to run such a memorable learning experience.
