This half term, Year 4 have delved deep into the realms of the Vikings. After learning about the history of Viking raiding and invading, investigating Viking life, and exploring the myths of the Viking gods, we ended our half term by spending the day as Vikings! The Year 4 classroom was transformed into a Viking longhouse, where we prepared a Viking meal. The children also experienced life as a Viking trader, exploring how the Vikings broadened their horizons by trading their goods for exciting treats from far off lands. On top of this, the children had some time in our forest school, taking the opportunity for outdoor learning to cook like a Viking on an open fire! The class have thoroughly enjoyed being plunged into a new world. To see more of our Viking adventures, head to the school website!
