Welcome to Holy Redeemer

Grow in Faith and Love

In literacy this term, we will be characterising Macbeth and Lady Macbeth before and after their scandal. We will also be composing our own magical poems to create some… double, double, toil and trouble.

We will end the school year with myths and legends.
Estimating, comparing and  calculating measurements followed by geometry: shape and direction is where we are going this term.

Plenty of time will be spent in the eco pond this term, learning about living things and their habitats. Children will use and create keys to identify and label creatures and learn about where they live. We will also be visiting the Knapp and Papermill to study a small stream and learn about the environment.

Perfect Pershore strikes again… this time in Year 4. A local study of Pershore will be conducted this term, encouraging the children to build up their geographical and historical skills within the area that they live.

Design and Technology
Following the successful build of the CAM toy, Year 4 will try their hand at the ‘Great British Menu.’ We will be designing a healthy menu for a themed picnic.

We will be learning how to correct mistakes in computing this term, by coding and debugging avatars to draw shapes and move around the screen following the input of algorithms (instructions / code).

Our budding artists have produced their own canvas paintings inspired by the ‘Sunflower by Vincent Van Gogh.’

Local Study Visits
In order to understand our local area, we have explored how people settled around Pershore and Evesham as well as exploring some of the Historical eras such as: Anglo-Saxons, Simon De Monfort and the Battle of Evesham. Next term, we intend to sketch our own maps of Pershore.
