Year 3 joined the Cheltenham Virtual Science Fair and created water clocks working together. The STEM challenge was to use a plastic bottle to create a clock that allowed 200ml to flow through in exactly one minute. There was mathematical thinking involved including measuring the amount of water and with making different sized holes. The children had to use trial and error and timed each attempt, which they then reflected on and used to adapt their models. They showed brilliant resilience and perseverance throughout and used their logical thinking and reasoning skills to talk with one another. They were all very excited to meet the objective towards the end of the lesson.
Well done Year 3- what super learners you are!
