In DT this term, the children in Year 3 have investigated dioramas, and then planned and made their own, to represent a 3D scene from their class ‘Book as a Hook’, Escape to Pompeii, by Christina Balit. Over the course of the unit the children practised putting together paper volcanoes, investigated and learnt how to use a selection of tools, decided what resources they would need for their own diorama and caried out some focussed practical tasks to develop their skills in using watercolour paint, modelling with plastercine, using pipe cleaners to build elements and how to use paper and card to give layers to a 3D picture. They produced some wonderful end products. Well done Everyone!
