This week Year 3 started their new Design Technology topic, ‘Pneumatic Systems’. They were given a bag with a straw, a balloon, a yoghurt pot and some tape in it, and worked in small groups to investigate how they could use these items to move Lego pieces from one side of the classroom to the other, on a zipline harnessing the power of air only.

The children showed great resilience when their initial ideas didn’t work and persevered in adapting their designs and retesting them to find a suitable solution. By the end of the lesson every group had managed to design and make an air propelled transport system! Amazing!
