Last week Year 3 led an assembly for the rest of the school, as well as for parents and wider family. The assembly was on the theme of Lent and focussed on Lent as a time for change. They read some of the great acrostic poems they had written about how we can all make a change for the better, and showed posters they had made showing practical ways we can all change, linked to each of the Catholic Schools Virtues.
The children also dramatised the story of the lame man-highlighting that Jesus had forgiven the man’s sins before curing him, and then shared some of the beautiful sorry prayers they had written. The children also praised God through their wonderful singing and showed us their Lenten themed art where they used charcoal to create different crosses.
It was a lovely assembly, full of important messages and the children delivered these messages with confidence, using their many talents. Thank you Year 3 and Mrs Brennan!
