Year 3 Bronze Age Torcs

Last last half term, in their history lessons, Year 3 applied what they had learnt about the Bronze Age and had a go at making their very own torcs! They started by evenly rolling out some clay to make ‘sausages’. They then decided if they wanted a swirl or a plait and added detail by using a cocktail stick to create impression or by adding clay.
The children had a lovely afternoon, learning how to keep their clay from drying out, as well as how to add pieces of clay together and developing their skills of working with clay as a medium.
