After Karen, from Keep Britain Tidy’s, whole school assembly Year 2 had a workshop to look at types of rubbish and how they can be reused, or recycled. Following this children and staff joined Karen on a litter pick of the Parish Church grounds and car park. They put their great noticing skills to good effect in spotting even quite small pieces of litter, and those bits that were hidden deep in the shrubbery. Afterwards they sorted the rubbish so that they could make sure that as much as possible was sent for recycling, minimising the amount that would end up in landfill. Well done Everyone-what a great way to exemplify our Catholic Social Teachings of ‘Stewardship’ for the planet and ‘Family and Community’.
