In science this half term Year 2 are learning about living things. This afternoon they linked this to their outdoor learning session by focussing on animals that live in our local area and on their habitats. The children talked about what a habitat was and what habitats were suited to a selection of animals, including hedgehogs, moles, worms and blue tits. The children then worked in groups to build suitable homes/shelters for these animals.
Afterwards they took turns on the mud slide on the bank and finished off the session by jumping in puddles on the playground, to clean off their muddy boots!
What a fantastic afternoon. Thank you Mrs Andrews.
