In Forest School this week Year 1 were learning about the first moon landing, with a special focus on Michael Collins, the crew member who stayed about their space rocket and never set foot on the moon.
Afterwards the children worked together to use items in the Forest School area, to make their own space ships. The class practised counting backwards, so that they could count down to lift off, before setting off on intergalactic journeys.
Some children followed in Michael Collins’ footsteps and jetted round the moon, while others met aliens and fought great battles. No matter where they went, needless to say lots of fun was had by all. Thank you Mrs Andrews!
