In their Forest School/Outdoor Learning Session on Friday, Year 1 started off in the Eco Garden, watering and tidying up-pulling weeds and sweeping leaves. Bob had asked them to pick the last remaining crop of apples; a special type, called Greensleeves, as well as the last crop of raspberries, and some mint, showing great Stewardship and Family & Community. As a reward for all of their hard work the children had apple, raspberry and mint to eat for their snack-Yum!
When the class arrived at Base Camp, in the Forest School area, they were excited to see leave their poster in the tree for the Romans to find, then got busy making their own maps of Forest School, using mud and sticks and stones. They marked out routes, with some children even adding in a cross to mark where they had left crossed sticks hidden.
Finally the children swapped maps and had a go at following each other’s maps-great fun!
