This week, as Year 1 arrived at Base Camp, they found a large arrow made from sticks. The arrow pointed to something hanging in a tree. Everyone was very excited to discover that it was a map! The children passed the map around the circle, making sure that everyone had chance to look at it, and realised that it was a map of the Forest School Area. Taking it in turn to be the leader, the class worked together to use the map to follow the route marked on the map. It was great fun!

After this the children worked in the Eco Garden, watering plants and tidying up, showing that they are already great at following our Catholic Social Teaching principals of ‘Stewardship’ and ‘Dignity of Work’. Well done everyone!

On arriving back into school the children were amazed to discover that the Rotten Romans had left them a letter and some treasure! The letter said that they were sad about being called the Rotten Romans. They asked the children to use the ‘treasure’ to do write something nice back. The parcels contained coloured paper in the shape of hearts and lots of things to write with. The class wrote some lovely messages for the Romans and will leave them in the Forest School area for the Romans to read. I wonder what the Romans will write next!
