Year 1 Forest School: Habitats

In their science lessons Year 1 have been learning about habitats so Mrs Andrews extended this learning into Forest School this afternoon.

The class started off by discussing the habitats they knew and the animals and plants that lived in them. From this the children then chose an animal to build a house for-making sure they had everything they needed…any more! Their chosen animal was a hedgehog and they all worked together to make some lovely, snug hedgehog houses; there was even one with a leaf pool for the hedgehog to swim in.

Once the hedgehog houses were finished, Henrietta Hedgehog went round and scored them all. Congratulations to Daisy, whose house got the highest hedgehog rating for being waterproof and generally all round snuggly.
