Year 6 took part in the Worcestershire Primary STEM Challenge last week. They were visited by Sarah Lalor, from Stemworks, who led the session for them.

The children were tasked with working in pairs, or threes, to design and build a ride for West Midlands Safari Park, using K’Nex. Their rides had to be animal themed, include seats for at least eight passengers, have a moving part (mechanism) and be sturdy and strong enough to stand unsupported. Their final challenge was to name their ride.

The children had great fun taking part, showed fantastic collaborative skills and came up with some highly creative and ingenious designs. Well done to our class winners, who will now go on to compete against winning teams from other schools later in the year.
