Worcester Stands Tall Giraffe Update

Here’s an update on our Worcester Stands Tall giraffe sculpture project:

Over the last few weeks, across the school the children have all been working hard to think of a name for our giraffe and to create a design for how they think it should be decorated, using the theme “How is our School Community Unique?”

A Design Team of 13 children has been specially selected, by teachers and Mrs Breakwell, to work on the project.  They have worked together over the last two weeks to decide the giraffe’s name and themes for its final design.  Take a look at them here:

On Tuesday 27th March the wait was finally over for the rest of the children and our giraffe sculpture was revealed to the whole school in an assembly.

The design team announced that our giraffe is to be called Jeff, which means ‘peaceful traveller’.  They also told the school the themes for our final design: Faith and Friendship; School Logo and Tie; Love and Circle of Friends; Music; Eco Garden; Stars and Medals; Sport.

Take a closer look at final design that Mrs Breakwell has put together, incorporating elements from all of the chosen pupil designs, below:

Keep an eye out for further updates on the Design Team’s progress as they begin to decorate the sculpture after Easter.
