Our first Winter Walk was a great success and those who came along have asked that we make them a regular thing. With this in mind, Mrs. Annis is hoping to run one each term.
On the Saturday before last a group of about thirty children, parents and staff met at school in the morning before setting off to walk to the Wetlands. Mrs Annis then led us on a circular walk of the Wetlands, with a stop off to feed the ducks. Mrs Mardle kindly supplied the duck food, which we were very grateful for. Everyone enjoyed the walk and it helped us all to be a bit more active than we might have been that morning! A lot of the children ran round the walk, climbed every fence and enjoyed rolling down the hill. The adults and some of the older children took the time to chat to others on the walk and enjoy the social aspects. Afterwards we stopped off at school for fruit and a drink.
Next term we are thinking that we might try and incorporate a healthy picnic as part of the walk, so keep an eye out to see it advertised.
