During week of 15th June, the children in our key worker bubble went on a Tour de France. We began with thinking about what we already know about France and created our mind map. We then watched a short film and added some more facts.

We soon realised that we had the correct colours of the French flag but not quite right, so we created some flags of our own and learnt the song “Le Tricolore” (and the French words: bleu, blanc, rouge)
We then had a “Tour de Paris” and learnt about some of the famous landmarks in the capital city. We used this to create our own “tourist attraction” maps and used the technique of “pointillism” to create our own unique images of La Tour Eiffel (the Eiffel Tower).
We also researched some facts about France and the Eiffel Tower to create out own posters / fact files. Take a look at our marvellous display here:

But, if that hadn’t kept us busy enough this week, we also created some wonderful poetry, took part in a “Beans Workout”, as well and our daily home learning activities and PE.
I wonder what we will be getting up to next week? Keep your eyes on the website news to find out!! Mrs Baker
