It was wonderful to see so many families at our Welcome Mass at the start of term, led by Year 6. The theme of the mass was new beginnings, and a key aspect was welcoming our new Reception children, and their families, to our Holy Redeemer community.
The children in Year 6 read out poems, prayers and letters that they had written to Reception Class, telling them all the things they themselves had learnt and done over their time at our school and sharing all the wonderful experiences and opportunities that await Reception Class as they move through the school and fulfil our mission statement. Year 6 children then paired up with children from Reception to bring items to the altar as symbols of all that they have to look forward to.
Thank you Year 6. What a great way to live out our Catholic Social Teaching principal of Family & Community.
