On Monday Christine, our school chaplain, came in to lead whole school Gospel assembly. She preached about how to be a good friend to Jesus and how to be a good friend and neighbour to others, including who our neighbour is. She tasked us all with being a good friend and neighbour to each other.
At the end of the assembly children presented Christine with a cheque for £270 for the School of Joy, in Bethlehem, which is the focus of Parish fundraising at the moment. The school supports children with disabilities. The children felt that it was important to support the school, and the parish, as part of our Catholic Social Teaching elements of ‘options for the poor and vulnerable’ and ‘dignity of the human person’.
Well done to the whole school for supporting the Values Council Lenten fundraising activities and helping them to raise so much money.
