Last term Governors made an appeal in the Parish for donations so that we could buy sets of Bibles for each class. We were overwhelmed with everyone’s generosity, with the final donation total coming to £1593!
The Bibles were ordered over the summer and arrived early this term. Where parishioners had shared their names with us, or where they had donated in memory of a loved one, bookplates have been written and stuck into individual Bibles. When the children use the Bibles in their lessons they say a prayer for those who donated it.
The children and staff are very grateful for the support the Parishioners give to the School, not only in respect to the Bible appeal, but also in terms of coming into school as volunteers. They are great role models to us all in terms of our Catholic Social Teaching principal of Family and Community.
As the money raised was more than we needed for the Bibles, we have used the remaining money to buy more rosaries, for the children to use in prayer times.
