Anglo-saxon Farmer Warriors
The Anglos-saxons were mostly farmers. They had to grow their own food. Poorer Anglo-saxons were slaves, or serfs and worked on the farms of richer people. Some poorer farmers grew crops on land owned by Earls. They had to give them some of their crops to pay for using the land.
Because this was a time in History when lots of people wanted to be in charge and take over the country, or parts of it, lots of these farmers also had to become warriors at times.
