Thank you to everyone who helped out with this year’s shoebox appeal, whether by sending in a completed shoebox that you filled at home, or by sending in items for the shoeboxes that we made up in school, or by helping Mrs Barker at her after school shoebox filling session last week. With your help we have manged to take 201 shoeboxes to the warehouse this afternoon, which almost doubles our previous best!
As you know, Mrs Barker will be delivering our shoeboxes in person this year as part of the Romania delivery team. Year two helped in class, making up shoeboxes and decorating the plain boxes that had been donated to us. Take a look at how busy everyone has been:
At the warehouse, Bob and his team gave the children and staff lots of ideas for how we can make cheap, easy shoebox fillers for next year, lots of them made out of recycled materials, or by re-purposing old, unwanted things (like making a pencil case out of an old tie!)
