On Wednesday the whole school walked over to Abbey Park School, who had kindly agreed to allow us to hold our sports day there. The sun shone and there was a wonderful atmosphere as parents, pupils and staff gathered together for Summer Sports Day for the first time since 2018.
The event was a great opportunity for the children to showcase the skills that they have been developing in their lesson, and was very efficiently run by Mrs Annis, Mrs Porter and the Sports Council and prefects.
There were individual and team events. All the children strove to earn individual/team stickers and points for their Houses. As well as the more traditional sprints, relay and long distance races, there were throwing and jumping events, as well as individual class novelty races (sack, potato and spoon, obstacle, football, hockey and of course, the Year 6 dress up race!
Everyone had a lovely morning. Thank you to Abbey Park for allowing us to use their field, and to our sports staff and young leaders, for all their hard work organising and running the event.
