We have ensured that these improvements are sustainable by investing a proportion of the money in staff training and equipment. We also sign post children to outside provision so as to channel their enthusiasm and school level success. By developing a Sports Council, we have also secured sustainable improvements as they have a remit to monitor and develop the sport and PE in school.
We are also looking at improving children’s overall fitness and have this year introduced an additional five minutes of exercise at the end of every playtime, led by a member of staff and the Sports Council.
