Seedlings Class: Spring Week

In Seedlings Class, our youngest pupils went on a spring walk, searching for signs of spring. It was a great opportunity to expand their vocabulary with words such as blossom, bud and petals.

To develop their fine motor skills and reinforce colour matching, the children used tweezers to sort the coloured ‘worms’ into same-coloured pot. They then enjoyed working with an adult to count how many ‘worms’ they had collected-a wonderful way to practise 1-2-1 correspondence and counting skills.

Other favourite activities this week were: rolling a dice and putting a worm on each spot, kitchen tube flower stamping, spaghetti cutting (great for developing scissor control and strengthening hand muscles), sensory play with frogs in the water tray and small world fun with animal figures! Another great week of fun-great job Everyone!
