On Tuesday 23rd June the children took part in a Science/DT day.
We began the day with an exciting assembly where Miss Davies helped us realise some of the many wonders of Science. We were then mixed into groups, which allowed us to work with children from different year groups. There were six different activities:
- Which biscuit is the best for dunking?
- Kite making
- Is slime a solid or a liquid?
- How to make an effective paper aeroplane
- Exploring sound
- Pond dipping
We all had a fantastic day and learnt lots!
“I loved making the paper aeroplanes because we got to test them and have challenges!” Tom Holder
“the digestive biscuit was the best for dunking…” Jessica Allen
“the world’s longest kite is 650m!” Matthew Tolley
We finished the day off with another assembly where we shared what we had learnt and Miss Davies announced the winners of the parachute competition. The winners were Alfie Quormby from Key Stage 1 and Chloe Barnard from KS2.
Well done to everyone who completed the parachute challenge, we had some fantastic entries. Finally, thank you to all of you at home that helped the children with their designs.
