School Mass and ACES Sale

On Sunday it was the first Sunday of Advent and we lit the first purple candle on the wreath. This candle is the ‘Hope’ candle. As it was a school/parish mass the children formed the basis of the choir and took on the readings and the offertory. It was a lovely mass and I would like to say thank you to all the families who attended.

Appropriately for the first Sunday of Advent, with it’s theme of ‘hope’, the Values Council helped Bron to organise and man a sale in the parish hall after mass to raise funds for ACES, the children’s charity that Bron set up to help homeless children in El Salvador. The event was a huge success and raised £250.
Earlier this month Bron had raffled a Christmas cake, which Nicky Garrad was lucky enough to win. She brought it along on Sunday to share with us all after mass. Before Bron cut the cake, the children gathered round to sing ‘Away in a Manger’ and to think about the children in El Salvador, who are in need of our help and our hopes for their futures.
