School Council ‘Hello Yellow’ Mental Health Day

On Friday 9th October the School Council organised a ‘Hello Yellow’ mental health awareness day to support the mental health and wellbeing of the pupils in the school, and also to raise money for Young Minds, a young people’s mental health charity. The aim of the day was to come together at a time when it is most needed, to support young people’s mental health on World Mental Health Day.

During the day everyone came to school wearing yellow, and spent part of the day thinking about how we can help ourselves, and others, to stay positive and in good mental health. Every child wrote their idea/s on a yellow post-it note. These post-its have been laminated and are now hung on the School Council’s ‘Hello Yellow’ mental health tree, outside the Year 4/5 block, so that anyone who needs help, or ideas, can go and have a look. Children were given the option to bring in some money for Young Minds, and the School Council raised £150. Thank you to everyone who was able to support this important charity in this way.
