The School Council held their first ‘Fairtrade Tuck Shop’ on Thursday this week. As part of putting our Catholic Social Teaching principles of ‘Rights of Workers’ and ‘Solidarity & the Common Good’ into action, they have chosen to sell products that are made with Fairtrade ingredients. Our school chef, Mrs Andrews, has kindly offered to bake the products to sell to the children. Each week, any money raised will be used to purchase the ingredients for the following week. This will support the rights of workers, particularly farmers in poorer countries in the world. Any additional money will be donated to CAFOD, further supporting our global communities for those who are in need; the poor and vulnerable. Thank you School Council, Miss Taylor and Mrs Andrews for helping to make a positive difference in our world!
