On Friday some of the staff volunteered to run an activities evening and sleepover, to help raise money for the refurbishment of the playground.

Staff were very busy after school clearing classrooms and setting things up, ready for the fun to start at 6:30. The evening began with the sleepover children up setting their beds, while the the children who were only staying for the activities played circle time games.

Once everyone was ready, Miss Taylor put the children into their groups and they rotated round the activities: dream catcher making, biscuit decorating & book mark making, and team games in the hall.

When the children who were only staying for the activities part of the evening went home at 8:30, the sleepover children put on their pyjamas and had some hot chocolate and ate the biscuits they had decorated earlier on, before settling down to watch a film.

The evening was rounded off beautifully with a wonderful evening prayer service, planned, resourced and led by Year 5 and 6 prayer leaders. Then it was teeth cleaning and snuggling up in sleeping bags for bedtime stories.

In the morning breakfast was served from 7am, followed by packing. The children were great at packing away their things and this left time for drawing and games before they were picked up between 8:30 and 9am.

Thank you to all of the children who came along and made the evening so much fun, and especially to the staff who gave so generously of their time and who raised nearly £900 for the playground fund!
