As part of their topic on traditional tales, Reception Class visited the Bishops Wood Centre for a hands on day of learning. Using the well-known traditional tale ‘The Three Little Pigs’ they looked at different materials used to build houses and considered if they were natural or man-made.
As the children recreated the story, bit by bit, they built houses, constructing with straw, sticks and bricks, for the little pigs, then tested whether their houses were strong and stable and whether the wolf would be manage to blow them down!
During the day they also explored other traditional tales, including ‘Goldilocks and the Three Bears’ and ‘The Gingerbread Man’.
Thank you Bishops Wood for a fun and interactive day of learning.
