In their Understanding of the World lesson last week, Reception Class explored what happens when water and sand are put through wheels, tubes and guttering. They investigated how they could slow the water and sand down and compared any similarities and differences between the resources they were using.

Before the lesson, the class were given a home challenge with a marble and a bottle. They had to fill the container with any liquid(s) to try to slow the marble down. Back in class they then spent time comparing and timing the marbles’ journeys. Well done to everyone who took part and congratulations to the winner, whose marble took 34 seconds to travel from the top to the bottom, using honey to slow the marble down!
