Last week saw Henerietta deliver the story of ‘The Train Ride’, by June Crebbin. The children enjoyed retelling the story in the small world tray, acting out their own train rides in the role play area and printing with different shapes, to create pictures of trains.
The children also made mini train tracks in the finger gym and used the bee-bots as trains; sending them on journeys to the beach.
In their Understanding of the World lesson, the class continued to explore forces, by using marbles, sand and water with guttering, wheels, pipes and tubes. They compared the different resources and how the marbles, sand and water moved through and down them. Great scientific investigation Reception Class!
