Last week Reception Class continued their learning based around traditional stories, focussing on ‘The Three Little Pigs’. They used puppets to retell the story and made houses for the pigs, using plasticine, sticks and straws.
In Maths the children looked at addition and worked in groups to sort dominoes according to the total of the spots.
In Understanding of the World they have been finding out about different environments, exploring which plants and animals live in deserts and comparing this to where we live.
In art the class have continued their lessons about textiles and have been learning how to wrap yarn around a stick. They created a ‘memory stick’ by wrapping different coloured yarns around a stick to remind them of different traditional stories, such as pink wool for the 3 pigs and green to remind them of the beanstalk in Jack and the Beanstalk story.
