As part of their learning about Chinese New Year, Reception Class read the story of the Magic Paintbrush. In the story the little boy has a very special paintbrush that brings to life the things that he paints. The boy uses the paint brush to paint things that people need, always thinking of others.
In Forest School the children thought about what a great example of Catholic Social Teaching this was and what they would paint, in order to help others, or the planet, if they had such a wonderful possession.
After wards the children hunted for likely looking sticks to turn into magic paintbrushes, and got busy creating a whole host of things that would benefit others.
Back at base camp the children told each other the story of their magic paintbrush and all the good that they had done with it in the wider world.
