Reception Class Forest School: Nests

Reception Class had a wonderful afternoon of outdoor learning at Forest School today.

In class they have been reading the story of ‘The Little Red Hen’. In Forest School Mrs Andrews built on this with the children by talking about different kinds of birds and their nests. The children learnt about the difference between twigs, sticks, branches and logs, then went on a hunt to find materials to build their own birds’ nests with. The nests were so successful that at the end of the session, while the children and staff were back at Base Camp enjoying prayer time, a robin and two blue tits came to visit them for a closer look!
