At Forest School today Reception Class paired up and scoured the School site on minibeast hunts. They used clipboards to help them record what they found and where they had found them. In the Eco Garden they were fascinated to see spiders on the shed, newts, water snails and tadpoles in the pond, and beautiful green damsel flies flying around the pond area.
Back at Base Camp, in the Forest School area, the children continued their hunt, finding a large snail (who Daisy was sure was the snail from ‘The Snail and the Whale’, by Julia Donaldson!
The children found an additional 14 different minibeast across the school site and then consolidated their learning back in class.
Well done Reception and ‘thank you’ Mrs Andrews!
