Reception Class: Jack and Jill Week

This week Bertie the Bee (who loves poems and rhymes) caught the rhyme ‘Jack and Jill’ for us, so that we could base our learning around it!

In the Maths area we have been using a range of different sized pails and using the words ‘more’ and ‘fewer’ to compare how many objects we need to fill them.

In Literacy we have been learning that print has meaning and can have different purposes. We used the giant pointers to find print around the classroom and made our own signs to go in class. We have also been changing the words to Jack and Jill, changing the names and they wat that they got up the hill.

On Wednesday we enjoyed our first Forest School session of the year, exploring the site and all its wonderful treasures. We have also been continuing our learning in our outdoor classroom.

On Tuesday we spent the afternoon finding out about different occupations. We enjoyed being doctors, dentists, teachers, farmers, construction workers, office workers and fire fighters.
