Last week Reception and Year 1 went to Blessed Edward Oldcorne Catholic College for a summer sports festival. The children had lots of opportunities to practise running, agility and throwing, catching, and striking skills. It was a fantastic morning and thank you to the PE department for organising the event and to the young leaders for running the activities and providing such wonderful support and encouragement all the children.

In maths, Reception Class have been exploring number bonds of 10, with 2 and 3 parts, using lots of different concrete resources and recording these using numerals. They were brilliant at it-the grown-ups in their class were very impressed!

Reception have also been getting ready for Open Gardens by extracting some wonderful compost from the compost bin in their outdoor classroom and taking it to the flower bed in the eco garden, ready to plant all their seedlings. The children were all fascinated and amazed at how many worms live and work in their compost bin! The worms have been very busy making some very rich compost for the plants.  Thank you worms!
