On Friday we held our annual PTA Summer Fayre, to raise money for school projects. A lot of hard work went on in the lead up to the day, and behind the scenes, to plan and organise an afternoon of family fun. There had been some worries about the weather, but it stayed dry and the event was a great success with a whole host of things to do and get involved in, from orienteering, side show games, craft, bouncy castle, face painting, tombola, coin toss, raffle, luck dip, lucky bags and refreshments.

Thank you to everyone who helped with the organising/set/tidying away (not least our amazing Year 6 prefects who took charge of planning and running the side show games, to all the parents and families who came along to support the fayre, and to all the local businesses who supported the fayre with donations for refreshments, or for the raffle. The amazing top prizes of a £75 voucher from Abbey Meats, and a luxury hamper from The Cheese Board at Barnard’s Green, made the raffle a very popular stall with the parents. Unsurprisingly the chocolate tombola, lucky bags and face painting were the most popular stops for the children. Thank you also to: The Hair End, Atlantic Fish ‘n’ Chips, Persora, Coachhouse Books, The Hungry Horse (Evesham), Sugar and Spice and Belle Amie, for generously donating such great raffle prizes; and also a huge thank you to Claire Hodges and Jon Crumplin who did such an amazing job going round asking for the raffle prizes.

With delicious strawberries (donated by Oaklands Fruit Farm), ice cream cones and homemade cakes & biscuits, the and refreshments did a roaring trade. 

After taking out expenses, such as tea, coffee, milk, bouncy castle hire etc, the event raised a fantastic £862! Thank you Everyone for all of your hard work and support-a great example of how our Holy Redeemer community live out our Catholic Social Teaching elements of Family & Community, and ‘Dignity of Work’.
