In Preschool, the younger children have been learning about pets, looking at the different animals they have at home and thinking about how to look after them.
The children then made their own pets using different materials, such as paint, pom-poms, pipe cleaners and more. The children engaged in sensory play, using a range of tools to tip and pour sand or rice. They talked about how they felt when listening to the sound of the pouring.
The children practised fine motor skills, using tweezers to pick up ‘worms’ and feed them to the baby bird. They also used ‘pinchy fingers’ to open the pegs and put the ‘whiskers’ on the cat.
