During Three Little Pigs Week the children loved listening to the story and helping the wolf by huffing and puffing. Staff then used the story to teach the children about first, then and next. The class worked on this by sequencing the story and working on remembering which house was built first, next and then (sticks, straw and brick)
The children worked on developing their understanding of number, alongside their fine motor skills, by connecting the correct number of links together, practised their name writing on special whiteboards (getting ready for going into school), enjoyed sensory pig-related ‘mud’ play using cornflour and water and investigated the force of wind by seeing which objects could be moved by the wind.
Great work Hopscotch!
