This week our young learners have been busy thinking about the nursery rhyme Ring a Ring O’ Roses. As part of this theme the children had an exciting trip to Webbs Garden Centre, where they saw lots of lovely plants and flowers, including roses.
In their Outdoor Learning session the children used colour-spotting sheets to help them think about the nature they could see around them. They described colours using vocabulary linked to shades and hues. The weather was lovely so it was a great opportunity to climb and exercise different body parts.
In the rhyme the children noticed the word ‘roses’ and thought about it being Mother’s Day this weekend. Each child celebrated their special adult by making a bunch of paper flowers and creating a fingerprint bookmark.
Hopscotch children have been using the time during Lent to say their own prayers, and even our smallest learners have shown that they can begin to think of others.
We think you are all special: well done!
