Hickory Dickory Dock was the perfect nursery rhyme for the children to explore their learning last week. The children used clocks to learn to recognise and read numbers, then explored the value of those numerals using counting skills. Children sorted things we do between those we do in the day and those we do at night and began to order some of those things.
Hopscotch continued their RE journey by collaging large lettering to spell the word Lent, and also decorated their own purple Lenten candle. A purple candle from the prayer table was used to help everyone think about how we can all make changes over this special time.
Fine motor development is always important in pre-school and we the children practised holding pencils correctly and using the pincer grip to pick up tiny beads and filling tiny pots too-great fun.
Well done Hopscotch for a creative week!
