Pre-school: Goldilocks Week

During Goldilocks Week in Pre-school we all went porridge and bears mad!

In their maths learning the children enjoyed using potato stamps of bear pawprints to make repeating patterns, compared the sizes of bears and used them to make more repeating patterns and played ‘Teddy Numeral Ordering’ to consolidate their understanding of number.

In other areas of their Early Years Curriculum learning, the children collected natural materials and used them to make teddy faces, tasted different types of porridge-voting for their favourites (chocolate won) and used chalks to make ‘He is Risen’ crosses linked to their RE learning about Easter and took part in a class prayer circle.

In the two-year-old room the children loved listening to the story again and again, helping to retell it when staff forgot! In their sensory play this week the children enjoyed scooping oats, developed their scissor skills and, in their mark making activity, used forks to paint teddy bears!

Another busy week!
