Police Week at Pre-school

This week at Hopscotch we were learning through a book about a police officer.  We thought about many ways the police might help us, and looked at the uniform they wear.

In maths we made Duplo police cars of differing heights, then counted how many bricks we had used and compared them. We had our first look at Numicon and how it can be used to represent numbers, and enjoyed using them to make buildings.  Even our younger children enjoyed using the Numicon in their learning.  We became detectives to find out who had eaten Mrs Sanders’s sandwiches by making fingerprints of our hands and writing the number 5.

One of our many mark making activities was to write our names in paint-filled plastic pockets.  We liked how the paint mixed together.

We finished the week with a fun-filled Funky Friday dance session using our bodies to feel good.
